DOGE
Dogecoin (DOGE) is a cryptocurrency that draws inspiration from the well-known "doge" Internet meme. The creation of this open-source digital currency can be attributed to the collaborative efforts of Billy Markus, hailing from Portland, Oregon, and Jackson Palmer, residing in Sydney, Australia. Dogecoin was derived from Litecoin through a process known as forking in 2013.
Dogecoin is distinct from Bitcoin's proof-of-work protocol in several ways. One of these differences is the use of Scrypt technology. Additionally, Dogecoin has a block time of 1 minute and an uncapped total supply, meaning there is no limit to the number of Dogecoins that can be mined. Mining Dogecoin can be done solo or by joining a mining pool. It is possible to mine Dogecoin on Windows, Mac, or Linux using a GPU. In 2014, the processes for mining Dogecoin and Litecoin were merged, allowing for simultaneous mining of both cryptocurrencies.
